Kristin is based out of North Kingstown, Rhode Island. She is drawn to the science and spontaneity of fluid arts, and is inspired by diversity in mother ocean, nature, culture and history. Kristin's current media include acrylics, epoxy, and jewelry making. She also works with varied media, including marker, pen and ink, and plants.
THE PROCESS
All jewelry designs start out as a large painting. Kristin steps away, and enjoys the macro of the work, and then dives deep into the mini details that exist in each millimeter. By studying each painting through this micro lens, she extracts each beautiful, unique area and creates a piece of one of a kind jewelry.
"If we looked at the world in this much detail, we'd see all the beauty there is."
Kristin believes art can be a direct force for personal, environmental, and societal change. She is a registered landscape architect and received her bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and a bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Rhode Island and her Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of California - Irvine. She was the recipient of the Deans Award for Community Engagement and was awarded by the California Chapter of the American Planning Association for her thesis, "Cultivating Economic Prosperity and Creating Identity in Santa Ana's Historic South Main Street."
When she's not making art, you can find her in the landscape design studio, dance studio, paddle surfing, or playing outside with her dogs.
